Project Management

joshandmax:

If it is possible, always have at least two people to manage a project on the highest level possible. This is good for a certain reason.

For one, drive and commitment from two individuals is so much stronger compared to one person. They both give each other support and it leaves a constant mental motivation that they are not alone in it.

Second, it keeps both people constantly alert. This is because with the shared amount of work, both of them have a narrower subject of focus. Later on, the two can share what they know in a much quicker pace.

Third, the avoidance of group think. Having two managers slims the chance of moving towards a direction that might be impractical or worse, a negative consequence. A Yin and Yang balance, if you like to call it.

Forth, greater ease of decision acceptance. If two people agree on the same thing, the rest of the team would find it easier to accept and agree on it. If a single man just deliver his plan of actions to the rest, it seems as if he might be a dictator. This advantage probably only exist if the whole team is almost of the same level in terms of “profession competency”.

Lastly, if ever anything bad happens, both might not feel that bad as they can console each other and reanalyze the error in their actions.

I think I am going to try this two-man leader style. Seems good on paper.
